Candidates are asked to submit an application to the Thekwini City College for admission to one of the College campuses in 2023 to pursue the Diploma.

To successfully apply and be considered for the training, please take note of the following:

Before you may apply, you must create a profile on the system.
• Must be a resident of the Gauteng Province and a citizen of South Africa.
• Having a Senior Certificate, a National Senior Certificate, being in Grade 12 right now, or a National Vocational Certificate in Primary Health is a requirement for admission.
• Applications must be submitted through the GPG Professional Job Centre system; late applications will NOT be accepted.
• Certified documents will be submitted to the system, but if you’re shortlisted, you’ll need to bring supporting documents with you to the selection center.
• All applications must be submitted online; they cannot be mailed or delivered by hand.

The following subject criteria are required

National Senior Certificate: English Level 4, Life Sciences Level 4, Mathematics Level 4 or Maths Literacy Level 5, and an APS of 27 or greater. Senior Certificate: English HG D or SG C, Biology HG D or SG C, Mathematics HG D or SG C, and a M score of 17. (Life Orientation counts half the score)
• National Vocational Certificate: 60% in the Vocational Subjects and 50% in the Fundamental Subjects (English First Additional Language, Math/Maths Literacy, Life Orientation) (SA Health Care System, Public Health, The Human Body and Mind and Community Oriented Primary Care)
• Students currently enrolled in Grade 12 must achieve the requirements for the National Senior Certificate in their Grade 11 final exams.

• Be ready to participate in Work Integrated Learning (WIL), which is a requirement of the curriculum and entails working shifts, weekends, and evenings at hospitals and clinics run by the Gauteng Department of Health.
